My research focuses on X-ray and Gamma-ray emission from accreting compact objects, mainly X-ray binaries.
My main projects concern:
  • investigation of a unified scenario of the high energy emission processes, with particular focus on weakly magnetised NS LMXBs[e.g. 1], including the development of a new Comptonisation model[2] and its application to private and archival high energy data[e.g. 3]
  • study of the accretion mechanism in the HMXBs known as supergiant fast X-ray transients (SFXTs, e.g. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10)
  • multi-wavelength campaigns to unveil the nature of newly discovered INTEGRAL sources, mainly using Chandra (as PI), but also other available X-ray, radio, optical and infrared facilities [11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16]
  • development and maintenance of an INTEGRAL archive - GOLIA - at INAF-IASF Milano [17].
  • TeV Spectra of Galactic sources: catalogue and simulations [18]
